CSR and Sustainability

  • BWSC Brigg Power Plant 660X200

Our attention to environmental, social and governance responsibility includes working within parameters of national legislation and working towards implementing international standards based on UN, International Labor Organisation (ILO) and OECD conventions, declarations, agreements and principles, as well as World Bank (WB) standards including the IFC Performance Standards. Where possible we strive to exceed legal requirements in order to be innovative and demonstrate leadership on the issues that are important to us and our stakeholders.

BWSC’s CSR and sustainability efforts are based on the principles of the UN Global Compact in the area of human rights, labour rights, occupational health and safety, the environment and business ethics. Furthermore, the IFC Performance Standards, WB EHS Guidelines and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights have been consulted and incorporated in the objectives of our CSR efforts.

In 2018 we have for the first time developed a dedicated report with focus on current sustainability and CSR initiatives, status and future goals. Download the brochure here.
