Emission abatement systems for gas-fired plants

The main pollutants emitted from gas-fired engines include:

  • Nitrogen Oxides (NOx)
  • Carbon-monoxide (CO)
  • Unburned hydro-carbons (UHC). Emission of SO2 and Particulate Matter from gas engines is negligible.

Gas engines, in particular lean-burn engines, can most often comply with German TA-Luft regulations without secondary abatement both with or without an oxidation catalyst to reduce CO and UHC. No reactants or residuals are involved.
