Driving force for international projects.
We are globally market leading in sales of turn-key power plants, in particular diesel power plants, but also within the field of renewable energy. We have a good volume of orders and are at present working with diesel power plants on the Bahamas, Cayman and Panama, plus a biomass power plant in Wales. New orders are in the pipeline, and this is why we are looking for a competent and experienced Project Manager to head the implementation of one of our international projects.
The Position
BWSC is a project-oriented contractor working in a matrix organization which makes heavy demands on the cross-functional cooperation. The projects are implemented in an international environment and most often in cooperation with international partners with BWSC as consortium leader. The Project Manager has the total responsibility for the financial as well as technical implementation of the project and at the same time the Project Manager is the daily leader of the project group consisting of competent employees from the technical departments. The team is grouped in a project room. The Project Manager reports directly to the Contracting Director.
Qualifications
We expect our new Project Manager to fully understand and be capable of assuming the responsibility this job requires, be it technically, financially or commercially. Accordingly, we expect you to be able to document good results. You set the pace - and are able to change speed as well as dig in for the long haul and also cut to the chase when needed.
You are in the driver’s seat and by the power of example know how to inspire and motivate others. Assuming the role as BWSC’s ambassador and taking responsibility for the effective progress of the many relations in a large turn-key project are also parts of your responsibility. These relations encompass the customer, sub-suppliers, the project group and last but not least the functional departments in BWSC.
• You probably have an educational background in engineering or marine engineering.
• It is mandatory that you have worked with international projects with complex technical process plants, preferably within the energy sector.
• You have business talent and flair for commercial business.
• You are cost-conscious and can get to the bottom of complicated technical problems.
• You have excellent English skills both orally and in writing as this is essential to making a career in an international environment. French or Spanish language skills for negotiation purposes would be an advantage - but not a requirement.
