In November 2007 Inversiones y Desarrollos Balboa S.A. (IDB) and BWSC signed a contract for an 85 MW diesel power plant to be built in Colon, Panama.
The project is based on 10 MAN 18V32/40 engines (purchased directly by the customer), and BWSC is to undertake the balance-of-plant including installation of the diesel engines.
The project is a fast track project; the customer contacted BWSC in September and contract was signed in November 2007. Half of the project is to be handed over to the customer already by the end of July 2008 - and the other half by the end of December 2008.
This contract is another direct result of BWSC’s presence in Panama, where BWSC has been established since 2002 with BWSC Panama S.A. performing as local Rep. Office for the Central American Region.
