In January 2007 Passerine at Abaco Holdings LCC signed a contract with Burmeister & Wain Caribbean Contractor (BWCC) - BWSC´s fully owned subsidiary in the Bahamas - for a 5.25 MW stand-by diesel generating plant for Bakers Bay Golf & Ocean Club at Great Guana Bay, Abaco, the Bahamas.
The project covers a turnkey delivery of three diesel generators (each installed in a sound enclosure), electrical switchboards and equipment, a buried diesel oil supply line, and all associated civil works.
The Caterpillar diesel generators are of 1.75 MW each (stand-by rating). The diesel generators, the associated electrical switchboard, and the sound enclosures will be supplied by Machinery and Equipment (M&E) from Nassau, the local Caterpillar dealer in the Bahamas.
Bakers Bay Golf & Ocean Club is under development. It will eventually consist of 350 lots, luxury hotel, marina, golf course, retail center, communication center, park, employment facilities, roads, water- and sewage systems, and much more. The 5.25 MW diesel generating plant is to serve as stand-by power supply for this development.
