In January 2005 Public Power Corporation S.A. of Greece signed a contract with BWSC for Operation and Maintenance Services at the new Atherinolakkos Diesel Power Station on Crete. The Service Contract comprises a BWSC Maintenance Team of 9 and one BWSC Op-eration Advisor, all permanently stationed on Crete.
The Power Station, which is built by a consortium consisting of BWSC, MES and Athena, started to produce power to the Cretan grid just prior the Olympic Games in 2004. It is equipped with two Mitsui MAN B&W engines type 12K90MC-S. Total output is 102 MW.
