BWSC awarded DKKm 60 boiler contract

We are pleased to announce that BWSC has been awarded a DKKm 60 contract for fuel conversion of an existing 100 MW heat only boiler used for district heating in Uppsala, Sweden.

The boiler was built in 1985 by Burmeister & Wain Energy A/S (BWE) originally burning oil. However, the boiler has lately been fuelled by peat and now, due to environmental requirements, the boiler has to be converted to burn wood pellets.

BWSC scope is milling of wood pellets, combustion of wood powder and flue gas treatment installations.

BWSC has been awarded the provision of all works for the design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, inspections, delivery, construction, erection, commissioning, testing and start-up of all systems, equipment, materials and documentation for a complete, safe and fully operational plant.

The contract will be executed during 2017 and 2018 ending with commissioning during autumn/winter 2018.

On 6 February 2017, BWSC entered into an asset deal with BWE for the acquisition of BWE’s biomass activities. This is the first major boiler contract we have entered into together with our colleagues from former BWE adding to the satisfaction of the accomplishment. We look forward to the exciting process ahead.
