In April 2009, BWSC signed a contract with Central Electricity Board in Mauritius for a 30 MW medium speed diesel plant to be built at CEB’s existing power station at Fort Victoria, Mauritius.
The project is a turnkey diesel power station expansion of the existing Fort Victoria station. It covers demolishing of an old power house and building of a new power station with 2 Wärtsilä 16V46 HFO diesel engines and all auxiliaries. The power station is to be ready for operation before November 2010.
This project is a greatly appreciated sign of confidence from the state owned electricity company CEB, which has once again appointed BWSC as their preferred supplier of power stations in Mauritius. The project is the 7th power station supplied by BWSC to CEB during the last 15 years.
