DESFA S.A. and BWSC signed a contract for a 13 MW turnkey power plant project

In November 2007, Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator (DESFA) S.A. and BWSC signed a contract for a 13 MW full turnkey power plant project to be constructed on the Greek island of Revithoussa.

With this award BWSC is back again in the Combined Heat & Power (CHP) business - a strategically important business segment following numerous project references implemented by BWSC in the 1990’ies.

The 13 MW (2 x 6.5 MW) project covers 2 gas engines G16CM34 units from Caterpillar including relevant auxiliary equipment plus a complete heat recovery system – all to be installed in a new power house. The client DESFA will use heat produced by the new power plant for the evaporation process of LNG being landed by ship as well as power supply to the Revithoussa Island and export of excess power to the Public Power Corporation grid system on the mainland.

The overall project delivery time is 18 months.
