Electricity Authority of Cyprus

On 18 December, 2008 a contract was signed between Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and BWSC for a 50 MW medium speed diesel power project to be built at EAC's existing power station in Dhekelia, Cyprus.

The project consists of a turnkey 50 MW diesel power plant as an expansion to BWSC’s 50 MW plant now under construction. It consists of 3 Wärtsilä 18V46 HFO diesel engines with Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) and all auxiliaries, to be ready for operation by 1 June 2010.

It is indeed satisfying for BWSC that our client EAC is pleased with our performance. EAC experienced an exceptional performance on our "Temporary Power Package" last summer for 4 months. They see how our major low speed plant is progressing well, and they express full confidence by signing another 50 MW with another technology even before the first one is in operation. EAC is thus a significant and also long-term client for BWSC.
